Answering God’s call to universal love, the Asia West-Pacific Section (AWPS) brings together Friends from different Quaker traditions and cultures. We celebrate our shared Quaker heritage, and work collectively on shared international concerns.

Asia West-Pacific Section comprises Meetings large and small in Aotearoa/New Zealand, Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong SAR, India, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea and Singapore.  There are isolated Friends scattered through the region and we are always looking for new ways to keep in touch with each other.

A paper newsletter is circulated twice a year and an electronic newsletter is published monthly and there is Meeting for Worship on line twice a month. We share our stories in person when we can, and also reach out to each other through the website. We support meetings and churches to form friendships and become companion meetings.

The Asia-West Pacific Section formally began at the 16th Triennial Meeting of FWCC in 1985. The first business meeting was held during the 17th Triennial in Tokyo in 1988 and gatherings are held in the Section every three or four years in a different location.

We encourage travellers to visit each other.  Please bring with you a letter of introduction from your home church or meeting.
